MOUNTING PRESSURE over unfinished infrastructure has prompted Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to direct contractors to take full advantage of the dry season for project completion.
The governor stressed the importance of delivering results to enhance connectivity and economic activities across Delta State.
During an inspection of the Sector ‘A’ of the Ughelli-Asaba road dualisation project at Aradhe in Isoko North, he highlighted the significance of the 139-kilometre road, calling it one of the state’s largest infrastructure projects.
“This dry season is all work and more work. Contractors must meet our expectations to deliver these projects on time,” he stated.
Oborevwori also inspected the Beneku Bridge, linking Ndokwa West and Ndokwa East local government areas.
While acknowledging the structural solidity of the bridge, he criticised its poor aesthetics and demanded improvements.
“The finishing is subpar, and this project, which holds economic importance for the region, deserves better. We will hold the contractor accountable,” he asserted.
