OVERWHELMED WITH shock and grief, Princess Antonia Emiko, mother of Prince Alex Timileyin, the Ajayi Crowther University (ACU) student who was allegedly beaten to death by his peers, has tragically fallen into a coma.
This heart-wrenching development was shared by an Itsekiri activist ‘Lord of Warri’ via his X handle, as he called on fellow Nigerians to pray for her swift recovery.
The heartbroken mother, now hospitalized, is stunned by unbearable pain and sorrow following the loss of her only son given that the profound bond between mother and child has been tragically severed, leaving her in a state of weighty devastation.
In an emotional appeal, ‘Lord of Warri’ also urged the Oyo State government, Oyo State Police, and Governor Seyi Makinde to ensure justice is served for Prince Alex.
He also emphasized the need for a thorough investigation and the appropriate legal action against those responsible for the tragic incident.
His message reads:
“Princess Antonia Emiko, mother of the late Prince Alex Timileyin, is in urgent need of your prayers. She lies hospitalized in a coma, overcome with unbearable pain and sorrow. The bond between a mother and her child is unbreakable, and her only son’s tragic loss has left her shattered,” Lord of Warri wrote in his plea.
He further stressed the necessity for accountability, stating, “I also appeal to @oyostategovt, @OyoPoliceNG, and His Excellency @seyiamakinde to ensure that justice is served and those responsible for her son’s tragic death are held accountable.”
The community has been urged by the activist to support Princess Antonia with their thoughts and prayers during this dark period in the hope that divine grace and mercy will provide her and her family the strength they desperately need.
Previous reports note that this tragic event has ignited outrage and calls for justice across the nation.
Last Wednesday, twenty-five students of Ajayi Crowther University were arraigned before the Chief Magistrate Court in connection with the death of Prince Alex Timileyin.
The suspects, ranging in age from 18 to 34, are currently remanded in prison until their trial on July 8.
Widely reported Prince Alex’s death, which occurred on May 31 inside ACU hostel, allegedly followed accusations of theft against him.
This was followed by brutal beatings he endured from his colleagues that led to his unfortunate demise, leaving the university and the wider community, as well as the entire nation, in shock and mourning.
Activist Lord of Warri signals that Princess Antonia Emiko’s plight is a stark reminder of the profound impact of violence and injustice as he reiterated his call for prayers and justice which resonates deeply, urging the community to rally around her in her time of unimaginable grief.
