NDLEA Relocates HQ to New Facility in Abuja

By Joke Kujenya

THE NATIONAL Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has relocated to its new headquarters in Jahi, Abuja.

This marks a significant milestone in its transformation into a modern anti-narcotics agency.

The facility, part of a phased development expected to be completed with the 2025 budget, was inaugurated during a low-key interdenominational service on 26th November 2024.

Chairman/Chief Executive Office (CCEO) Brig Gen Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd) stated that the move addresses space constraints faced at the former Gimbiya headquarters, ensuring better coordination and efficiency.

“Though not fully completed, this facility is functional enough for us to move in.

It enables us to consolidate our operations under one roof,” Marwa said, noting the Agency’s significant growth, including an increase in staff from 5,000 to 15,000 since 2021.

Marwa expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu, the National Assembly, and international partners for their support in advancing NDLEA’s mission to combat drug abuse and trafficking.

Prayers for Nigeria, President Tinubu, and the unveiling of a commemorative plaque concluded the event.
