A MISLEADING video falsely claiming that fuel from the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Ltd does not last has drawn strong condemnation from the company.
NNPC Ltd dismissed the allegations as baseless, asserting that the claims stem from unverified and amateur research lacking professional credibility.
The company reaffirmed that its fuel meets industry standards, ensuring efficiency, durability, and environmental sustainability.
It also clarified that a substantial portion of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) sold at NNPC retail stations in Lagos—where the deceptive video originated—is sourced from the Dangote Refinery.
The refinery, a key partner in Nigeria’s energy security, adheres to stringent quality control measures to guarantee the reliability of its products.
NNPC Ltd denounced the video as a calculated attempt to mislead the public and tarnish its reputation.
Describing such misinformation as the work of economic saboteurs, the company vowed to take firm legal action against individuals or groups deliberately spreading falsehoods about its operations.
Olufemi O. Soneye, Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPC Ltd, reiterated the company’s commitment to ensuring fuel availability, affordability, and quality while maintaining global industry standards.
He urged Nigerians to disregard misleading content and rely on verified sources for accurate information.
