Philosophers Gather in Lagos for 2024 PAN Conference on Leadership and Sustainability

SCHOLARS AND intellectuals will converge at the University of Lagos (UNILAG) for the 2024 International Conference and Annual General Meeting of the Philosophers Association of Nigeria (PAN).

The event, themed “Philosophy, Leadership, Development, and Environmental Sustainability in Africa,” will take place from February 26 to 28, 2025.

Professor Yunusa Kehinde Salami of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, will deliver the keynote address on February 27.

On the same day, Professor Oseni Taiwo Afisi, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics) at Lagos State University, will present the lead paper.

The conference will be hosted by Professor C.B. Okoro, Head of the Department of Philosophy, UNILAG, alongside Co-Host Professor Akanbi Mudashiru Ilupeju, Dean of the Faculty of Arts. The Vice-Chancellor of UNILAG, Professor Folashade Tolulope Ogunsola, will serve as Chief Host, while the convener is Professor Jim I. Unah, a Distinguished Professor of Philosophy and President of PAN.

The opening ceremony is scheduled for February 27, followed by an academic session on February 28.
