IN A STATEMENT, Pa Suleimon Atanda Obasa, father of the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, passed away this morning at the age of 83.
The news was announced by Eromosele Ebhomele, Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker stating that Hon. Obasa lost his father to the cold hands of death at a ripe old age.
The elder Obasa, a well-rounded businessman and community leader, was reported to have peacefully passed away in the early hours of Tuesday.
Pa Atanda Obasa was said to be a prominent figure in the business world, having established a successful career in the oil and gas industry as well as the transportation sector, where he owned several filling stations.
His entrepreneurial spirit extended to farming, where his ventures not only thrived but also provided employment and empowerment to numerous citizens.
Known for his devotion to his family and community, Pa Obasa was a loving family man and a respected leader who was said to have dedicated his life to the service of God and mankind, consistently caring for the needy and less privileged.
His charitable acts and commitment to improving the lives of those around him earned him widespread admiration and respect.
Pa Obasa is survived by his wives, children, and grandchildren, including the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Mudashiru Obasa.
The statement notes that the family mourns the loss of a patriarch whose contributions to both his family and community were immeasurable.
It was also stated that the funeral will take place at 4.00p.m. this Tuesday evening in the Agege area of Lagos State, according to Islamic rites, adding that his immediate community is expected to come together to honour and bid farewell to a man who left an indelible mark on many lives through his business acumen, generosity, and unwavering faith.
