JOURNALISTS ACROSS Nigeria will converge for the 2025 edition of Polaris Bank’s Annual Media Capacity Seminar on 17 July, with a fresh focus on digital transformation, storytelling, and innovation tools shaping the future of newsrooms.

The event will run from 10:00am to 1:00pm.

Titled “Empowering Journalists in the Digital Age: Storytelling, Tools & Transformation”, this year’s seminar will be anchored by Taiwo Obe, Founder and Director of Journalism Clinic, and Abayomi Adisa, Senior Journalist with the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC).

The men, according to Polaris Bank, are both facilitators and renown for championing media capacity-building and excellence.

Now in its 11th year, the seminar stands as a flagship initiative by Polaris Bank aimed at strengthening the professionalism, adaptability, and digital acumen of journalists.

Since its launch in 2015, over 5,500 media practitioners have received training through the programme with developing skills that aligns with today’s AI-driven, multimedia journalism demands.

Last year’s edition featured a hybrid format and drew more than 500 participants.

Themed “Integrating AI Tools in Contemporary Media Practices for Innovation and Excellence”, the 2024 session equipped attendees with practical knowledge in data journalism, multimedia production, advanced fact-checking, and responsible AI integration.

Polaris notes that the 2025 seminar is set to deepen the digital conversation, highlighting transformative newsroom practices, cross-platform storytelling, and adaptive tools designed to keep journalism both relevant and impactful amid constant media evolution.

Attendance remains free, though prospective participants must register via bit.ly/PAMC2025, the statement notes.
