GOVERNOR Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has pledged full support to the Nigerian Navy (NA) in their operations within the state.

During a courtesy visit by Chief of Naval Staff *CNS), Emmanuel Ogalla and other high-ranking officers at the Government House in Port Harcourt, Fubaba commended the NA for their efforts in reducing oil theft in the state while emphasizing the importance of addressing economic challenges, rising insecurity and criminal activities in Nigeria.

Fubara also appealed for the Nigerian Navy to relocate all its bases to Rivers State due to its water terrain, environmental advantage, and strategic landmarks.

A statement released by Nelson Chukwudi, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, highlighted the CNS Ogalla’s description of the relationship between the Nigerian Navy and Rivers as “conjoined twins.”

CNS Ogalla expressed appreciation to the state government for their support, particularly in donating schools to the Nigerian Navy.

During the visit, it was announced that the headquarters of the Naval Training Command, Lagos, would be relocated to one of the schools donated by the Rivers State government.

Ogalla reported significant achievements during his tenure, including intercepting 14 vessels transporting stolen crude oil and making numerous arrests.

He assured ongoing investigations and emphasized that those found guilty would face the full force of the law.
