THE RIVERS state government has announced that the entire state is witnessing a transformative period as Governor Siminalayi Fubara commissions the 3.05Km Kala-Ibiama Road in the Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Area last Wednesday.
The road, part of the Kala-Ibiama-Epellema Road and Bridge project, is set to enhance business as well as improve access to remote areas and foster socio-economic growth.
Speaking at the event, Senator Adawari Pepple, highlighted the difficulties faced by the Kala-Ibiama community residents before the construction, particularly during the rainy season.
He then praised Governor Fubara’s infrastructure strides, including 28 commissioned roads covering 91.36Km and 26 ongoing projects, all achieved without unnecessary ceremonies.
Pepple also used the occasion to urge land grabbers to steer clear of Opobo-Nkoro and called on Rivers’ residents to support state progress.
In his comments, Governor Fubara emphasised the project’s role in connecting Kala-Ibiama to Epellema.
He then urged the community leaders to desist from tarnishing the state’s image with propaganda.
Reacting, Hon. Enyiada Cookey-Gam, Chairman of Opobo/Nkoro, commended the administration’s impact on transportation, security, and economic activities.
Also in his words, Monier Construction Company’s GM, Omako Oko, lauded the state for its trust in delivering quality projects.
