DONATED ITEMS brought relief and renewed warmth to residents of the Old People’s Home in Yaba as Fidelity Bank Plc deepened its corporate social responsibility through the Fidelity Helping Hands Programme.

The bank’s Nexus Inductees Class spearheaded the initiative, contributing alongside management to provide much-needed food and essential supplies to the elderly residents.

Under the Fidelity Helping Hands Programme, staff members from branches across the country identify key areas for intervention within their communities and raise funds to address them.

These efforts are then matched naira-for-naira by the bank, enabling the execution of targeted support projects such as this one.

The Divisional Head of Brand and Communications at Fidelity Bank, Dr Meksley Nwagboh, noted the donation was part of the bank’s continued efforts to honour the elderly while reinforcing its long-standing commitment to impactful community engagement.

He stated that the visit was an appreciation to the older generation whose legacy includes the very customers the bank now serves.

The Director-in-Charge of the Home, Adetutu Ipaye, expressed gratitude to the bank, describing the donation as timely and necessary.

She urged other corporate organisations to emulate Fidelity Bank in sustaining support for the elderly, which remains vital to upholding their comfort and dignity.

A beneficiary at the home, Mr Kamoru Adeyetu, welcomed the donation with heartfelt appreciation, adding that the visit itself meant just as much as the material support.

He encouraged regular engagement with the home, describing the interaction as uplifting and inspiring for the residents.

Fidelity Bank continues to distinguish itself as one of Nigeria’s most impactful financial institutions, combining business excellence with community-centred initiatives.

With over 9.1 million customers served across digital platforms, 255 business locations, and a growing international presence through FidBank UK Limited, the bank has earned recognition both locally and globally for innovation, digital transformation, and SME support.
