Oyo State Traffic Authority to Receive Technological Upgrade from Globacom

THE Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority (OYRTMA), has disclosed that it is poised for a technological upgrade as telecommunications giant, Globacom, expresses commitment to furnish the agency with the state-of-the-art digital infrastructure to bolster its operations within the state.

In a recent development, Major Adesagba Adekoya (rtd), Chairman, OYRTMA, said this following a meeting with the management team of Globacom at the Agodi Secretariat in Ibadan last Friday.

Adeokoya emphasized the transformative impact of this intervention, asserting that the infusion of modern equipment would significantly enhance the efficiency of the agency’s operations, thereby streamlining traffic management efforts across the state.

Highlighting the importance of leveraging advanced technologies in curbing traffic violations, Adekoya underscored the potential for increased revenue generation through enhanced enforcement measures facilitated by the new equipment.

Furthermore, he reiterated the steadfast commitment of the current administration to ensuring seamless traffic flow round-the-clock throughout the state.

Echoing similar optimism, Mr. Adeniyi Odejobi, Southwest Zonal Director of Globacom, reaffirmed the company’s dedication to supporting OYRTMA through the provision of cutting-edge technology as part of its corporate social responsibility.

Odejobi lauded OYRTMA tireless endeavours in maintaining order on the roads and applauded its ongoing public awareness campaigns aimed at promoting road safety within Oyo environs.

The courtesy witnessed the attendance of official personnel including Mr. Gabriel Making, Zonal General Manager, Globacom, Commander Adeoye Ayoade, General Manager, OYRTMA, and Kareem Jimoh, Director of Administration and Supplies, among others.

OYRTMA, in a parallel development, conducted a targeted enforcement operation under the leadership of its Chairman, resulting in the apprehension of 37 traffic offenders who were duly fined as part of the agency’s ongoing efforts to uphold traffic regulations.
