…Set Up Brawl Against Winner of France Versus Paraguay Duel

THE ATLAS Lions of Morocco Saturday in Houston devoured the Reds of Canada who faced them at the round of 16 without their lethal Nigerian striker Folarin Balogun 3-0 to stroll like the King of the jungle into the quarterfinals.

Azzedine Ounahi was the ace player who supplied the brace that ate the Canadians raw in the 50th minute from Achraf Hakimi connect and in the 82nd minute when from a fast break, Brahim Diaz passed to him to score effortlessly.

Mr. Connector, Brahim Diaz again oiled his machine to find Soufiane Rahimi in the 90+8th minute of injury time to score the 3rd goal.

The match handled by British celebrated Ref Michael Oliver was very rough attracting 37 foul calls in 23-14 against Canada but 4-4 yellow cards; Canada were desperate for goals having 10-5 shots and a whopping 11-1 corner kicks advantage with nothing to show for the efforts but Morocco was interested in controlling the game with 56-44% ball possessions stringing 399-347 passes.

The Atlas Lions ranked 7th in their 7th appearances placed 4th at the last world cup wheras Canada ranked 30 in their 3rd appearances has this round of 16 as best performance. The two teams met once at the 2022 world cup and Morocco won 2-1.

Morocco steps forward into the quarterfinals to meet winner of the Paraguay versus France match on 9th July at Foxborough.

That Paraguay versus France round of 16 match is at 10pm tonight; tomorrow Sunday at 9pm the Samba Boys of Brazil will be on parade against Norway while at 1am on Monday it will be Three Lions of England against Mexico.
