REAFFIRMING his commitment to advancing infrastructural development across the state, Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, has pledged to maintain the momentum of ongoing projects.

This assertion came as he inaugurated the newly constructed Hospital Road in Ogijo, Sagamu Local Government Area, during a ceremony held on Tuesday.

Highlighting the significance of the occasion, Abiodun assured residents of the area of forthcoming projects aimed at bolstering economic growth.

He cited the completion of over 600 kilometers of roads in the state over the past five years, with additional projects slated for commissioning in Iperu and Ilaro later in the week.

Describing Ogijo as a pivotal industrial hub within the state, the governor stressed his administration’s efforts in addressing long-standing challenges such as electricity shortages, ensuring the provision of transformers and other vital infrastructure.

The construction of the Hospital Road, Abiodun affirmed, was a fulfillment of his promise to the community made a year ago. Despite challenges encountered during construction, he commended the resilience of contractors in delivering the project on schedule.

Emphasizing the pivotal role of road infrastructure in fostering development, the governor asserted that the commissioned road would invigorate commercial activities, benefiting numerous communities in the vicinity.

Expressing his administration’s unwavering commitment to fulfilling promises, Abiodun announced the commencement of a series of project inaugurations to mark the first year of his second term in office and extended gratitude to traditional rulers and residents for their steadfast support, assuring the completion of unfinished projects to enhance community welfare.

In his remarks, Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Ade Akinsanya, lauded the commissioning of Hospital Road as a testament to the state government’s dedication to infrastructural advancement. He assured of ongoing efforts to construct and inaugurate more roads under Governor Abiodun’s leadership, emphasizing the pivotal role of road infrastructure in driving socio-economic progress.

Sagamu Local Government Area Chairman, Mr. Afolabi Odulate, acknowledged the governor’s responsiveness to community needs, particularly in addressing infrastructural deficiencies as he commended the state government’s collaboration in road construction projects across various communities.

Representing the Akarigbo of Remoland, Oba Babatunde Ajayi, Ologijo of Ogijoland, Oba Kezeem Gbadamosi, acknowledged the neglect suffered by the area in previous administrations.

However, with the commissioning of Hospital Road, they noted a positive shift in the infrastructural landscape, expressing appreciation for the well-executed project and its broader benefits to the community.

The Oba adds that as the state government continues its infrastructural drive, stakeholders would regain optimism about the transformative impact on livelihoods and economic prosperity in Ogun State.
