MAKING A solemn request, Nigeria’s former First Lady as Aisha Buhari has conveyed a personal farewell message left behind by her late husband, former President Muhammadu Buhari.

Speaking with calm brevity, she revealed his parting words were a plea for national forgiveness.

She recalled his repeated instructions in private moments after leaving office, urging her to pass on a message should he die before her.

“He often told me that if he passed away before me, I should kindly ask Nigerians to forgive him for any wrongs he might have committed during his time in power,” she said.

The late president, she noted, was fully aware of the weight of leadership and the inevitable errors that come with it.

“He always reminded me that he was only human capable of both good and mistakes,” she added.

With emotion restrained but intention clear, Aisha Buhari concluded: “That’s why I’m here today, begging all Nigerians to please forgive him before he is finally laid to rest.”
