UPDATED TIMETABLE and schedule of activities for the 2027 general elections have been released by the All Progressives Congress (APC), setting out dates for screening, primaries, appeals, and other internal processes.
JKNewsMedia.com reports that the notice, issued on Monday, was signed by the National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, and confirmed separately by the National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka.
The party, on its X handle, stated that the timetable aligns with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 as amended, the Electoral Act 2026, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) revised timetable and schedule of activities for the 2027 general elections.
It notes that:
▪️ Sales of Expression of Interest and Nomination forms will run from April 25 to May 2, 2026, while submission of completed forms will close on May 4, 2026.
▪️Screening of aspirants is scheduled between May 6 and May 9, 2026, covering State Houses of Assembly, House of Representatives, Senate, governorship, and presidential aspirants in phases.
▪️Screening appeals for State House of Assembly and House of Representatives aspirants will take place from May 12 to May 13, 2026.
▪️Primary elections will commence on May 15, 2026, beginning with the House of Representatives, followed by the Senate, State Houses of Assembly, governorship, and presidential primaries, concluding on May 23, 2026.
The party also published designated bank accounts for the purchase of Expression of Interest and Nomination forms.
The party also states that costs for the forms were outlined, vis
▪️State House of Assembly aspirants to pay N1,000,000 for Expression of Interest and
▪️N5,000,000 for Nomination forms.
▪️House of Representatives aspirants will pay N1,000,000 and N9,000,000, while
▪️Senate aspirants are required to pay N3,000,000 and N17,000,000.
Governorship aspirants will pay N10,000,000 for Expression of Interest and N40,000,000 for Nomination forms, while presidential aspirants will pay N30,000,000 and N70,000,000, respectively.
