FESTIVE CHEER swept through Banana Island, Lagos, on Saturday as the community celebrated the 2024 Starlight Night.

Globacom, a leading technology company in Nigeria, sponsored the highly anticipated event, marking the official start of the Yuletide season.

The Banana Island Property Owners and Residents Association Lagos (Biporal) organised the event, which has become a cherished annual tradition since its inception five years ago.

The Starlight Night combined reflection, gratitude, and community bonding.

Attendees enjoyed electrifying performances by Art Afrique and the Society for Performing Arts Nigeria (SPAN).

A spectacular Christmas fireworks display lit up the skies, leaving the audience in awe. Biporal described the evening as an opportunity for families and friends to come together, reflect on the year’s journey, and express gratitude in a serene and festive atmosphere.

Globacom’s sponsorship added significant value, including the lighting of a grand Christmas tree and decorative street light boxes strategically placed across Banana Island.

This initiative aimed to infuse the neighbourhood with a joyful festive spirit.

A Globacom representative expressed the company’s commitment to fostering unity and joy, stating, “Christmas symbolises togetherness and hope.

Globacom is proud to give back to the community, spreading happiness as we approach the New Year.”

Residents, community leaders, and corporate partners gathered to share in the festive spirit, strengthening bonds and celebrating the season’s essence.

Globacom’s involvement highlighted its dedication to enriching lives, making the event memorable for all.

A statement issued notes that the 2024 Starlight Night further cemented its place as a highlight of Banana Island’s cultural calendar, reflecting the harmony and vibrant spirit of the community.
