CABINET RESHUFFLLE approved by President Bola Tinubu has removed the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, alongside the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, from the Federal Executive Council (FEC).
JKNewsMedia.com reports that a memo signed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, confirmed that both ministers are to leave the cabinet, with replacements already named.
Wale Edun has been directed to hand over to Taiwo Oyedele, who previously served as Minister of State for Finance and will now assume office as Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy.

Ahmed Musa Dangiwa has also been directed to hand over to Muttaqha Rabe Darma, who has been named minister designate for the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development.
A statement issued by Yomi Odunuga, Special Adviser, Media and Publicity to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, stated that all handing over and taking over processes are to be completed on or before close of business on Thursday 23 April 2026.
The memo reads that President Bola Tinubu approved a minor cabinet reshuffle in the membership of the Federal Executive Council.
It also stated that Tinubu exercised his powers under sections 147 and 148 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 as amended in approving the changes.
Akume said the changes are aimed at strengthening cohesion and synergy in governance as well as achieving more impactful delivery on the economy to Nigerians through the Renewed Hope Agenda.
He added that the President thanked the outgoing ministers for their service to the nation and wished them well in their future endeavours.
The statement further noted that the President assured cabinet members that the process of reinvigoration will be continuous.
Meanwhile, the newly appointed ministers, yet to be confirmed by the Senate, include Nentawe Yilwatda, Muhammadu Dingyadi, Bianca Odumegu-Ojukwu, Jumoke Oduwole, Idi Maiha, Yusuf Abdullahi Ata and Suwaiba Ahmad.
Also, the presidency said the dismissals and appointments form part of “eight far-reaching actions to reinvigorate the Administration’s capacity for optimal efficiency in pursuit of its commitment to deliver on its promises to Nigerians.”
