MOTORISTS NAVIGATING the dilapidated Akute-Lambe-Agbado route in Ifo Local Government, Ogun State, may soon find respite as reconstruction efforts formally commence under the supervision of construction firm Craneburg.
Heavy-duty equipment has been deployed to site with preliminary earthworks already underway, marking the beginning of full-scale activities on the long-awaited project.
Machinery including SEM 920F Motor Graders and bulldozers are actively preparing the roadbed, as excavators and dump trucks lay the groundwork using layers of lateritic soil.
The meticulous layering is aimed at ensuring long-term road durability, according to eyewitnesses observing the ongoing work.
The project covers key corridors such as Akute Bridge, Oke Aro Stream, and Agbado Bridge.

These links are considered critical to local transportation, connecting densely populated areas and easing access across multiple communities within Ifo Local Government.
The initiative falls under the broader infrastructure development strategy of the Governorship Dapo Abiodun administration, which aims to raise living standards across Ogun State through improved road connectivity.
Construction of drainage systems and laybys is expected to follow as work progresses.
Residents have expressed cautious optimism as visible signs of progress now emerge. For years, commuters in the area have endured poor road conditions and the accompanying economic strain.
The new development signals the possibility of easier mobility, economic stimulation, and safer travel in the coming months.
The Akute-Lambe-Agbado project complements an array of other completed or ongoing road works initiated by the state government.
These include the Akute-Ajuwon road in Ifo II State Constituency, Alagbole-Akute road, Akute-Ijoko-Oke Aro road, Sango-Ijoko-Akute road, and the Denro-Ishashi-Oluwakemi Road.
The Ogun State government maintains that such infrastructure efforts are essential to improving transportation efficiency and enhancing economic prospects for its residents.
