Delta Government Promotes Business-Friendly Environment for Investors

DELTA State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has reiterated his administration’s commitment to fostering a business-friendly environment to attract potential investors to the state.

He made the disclosure during the inauguration of the Asaba Branch of Signature Bank on Tuesday.

Oborevwori emphasized his administration’s proactive stance in enhancing the ease of doing business in the state to facilitate increased investment, underscoring the importance of peace and security which he described as a cornerstone of his MORE Agenda, in creating an atmosphere conducive to business activities.

“We are dedicated to maintaining the peace and security that our state currently enjoys, ensuring that individuals can conduct their lawful businesses without fear or hindrance.

“Delta State welcome the establishment of the Bank and looks forward to supporting its operations including the proposed branch in Warri,” Oborevwori affirmed.

Expressing his satisfaction with the bank’s official commissioning in Asaba, Oborevwori highlighted the city’s growing reputation as a hub for trade, commerce, entertainment, and hospitality, noting the significant influx of banks into the state capital over the past few years, driven by its transformation into a modern city and its appeal to young professionals and entrepreneurs.

He notes that since its inception in 2022, Signature Bank has gained recognition for its tailored banking services, innovative solutions and commitment to excellence, Gov Oborevwori expressed confidence that the bank’s presence in Asaba would invigorate the state’s banking sector and stimulate healthy competition to the benefit of customers.

He also welcomes the employment opportunities that that bank’s establishment would bring to Deltans, emphasizing job creation as a key pillar of his administration and assured the board, management and staff of the bank of state’s support for their business endeavours.

In his remarks, Mr. Godwin Nosike, Acting Managing Director, Signature Bank, expressed gratitude for the warm reception and support received from the state government throughout the establishment of the Asaba Branch, and affirmed their confidence in the conducive business environment and reiterated their commitment to contributing to its economic growth.
