Desperate Mother of Quadruplets Appeals for Help from Nigerians

ORDINARILY, Mrs. Esther Chinwendu Odili, residing at No 1, T. M Chukwuma Close in Ijegun-Ikotun, Alimosho local government area of Lagos State, would not pester anyone for her personal life’s challenges.

But given her current helpless situation, she is reaching out to the public in a heartfelt plea for assistance to raise the bundles of joy God bestowed on her, but she would not wish them to suffer hunger and deprivation.

She told JKNewsMedia that it was with surprising shock and joy that she welcomed four precious babies into the world on April 20th, 2023.

However, she was quickly jolted out of the joy of their arrival as she got overshadowed by the financial strain of caring for them.

Before their birth, Mrs. Odili said she had undergone a period of bed rest at Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Ikeja (LASUTH), where she reached out to hospital management, expressing her need for financial support during and after delivery.

She said it was regrettable that her plea went unanswered, forcing her family to borrow money to cover mounting hospital bills.

She also noted that her husband, a recent graduate of the National Institute of Sports (NIS), has since then been doing his utmost best to provide for their growing family. But, despite his efforts, the financial burden remains insurmountable.

She said that the husband, Mr. Teddy U. Odili, had also at some point, reached out to the Lagos State government through the Ministry of Sports and Development since September 2023, but the family is yet to receive any assistance or response, noting that she could understand that the ministry could be probably overwhelmed with several other responsibilities.

Mrs. Odili disclosed that each day, as they navigate the challenges of caring for the quadruplets, consisting of two boys and two girls, and who all, eat lots for that matter, everything becomes like a nightmare because as they grow up in the last one year; it’s just like their appetite expands or enlarges, as she notes she really couldn’t capture it with a proper adjective.

It is this reality of their glaring situation in the current economic realities that now compelled her to plead with her husband to allow her appeal for financial assistance from well-meaning and kind-hearted Nigerians to, in their goodwill, please, support them to raise the four boys.

“They need foods, regular children’s medications, clothing, especially in this period of weather fluctuations, and in other ways, because each passing day, she is recognizing that the journey ahead will not be easy without the generosity and kindness of others.

“Truly, I am not happy doing this. I never imagine it. But this is a need we cannot bare alone. This is why we are seeking for help, and we pledge to use the money reasonably for the sake of the innocent lives.

“We are grateful for your kind assistance sent to: Access Bank, Odili Chinwendu Esther, No: 1806686975. And I say thank you all for helping us to survive this huddle of life.”
