TOP DIGNATORIES, government officials, media executives, and entertainment icons are expected to attend the North American Media Award Presentation holding in Lagos State, Nigeria, on Saturday, November 15, 2025.

The historic event, organised by Naija Standard Newspaper Inc, USA, will spotlight Nigerians in the Diaspora and their contributions to Africa’s economic growth under the theme, “Nigerians in the Diaspora, Powerhouse of Africa’s Economy.”

The organisers confirmed that the ceremony will convene high-profile guests, including the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa; Acting Director General of the Nigerian American Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Wofai Samuel; and Assistant Inspector General of Police, Margaret Ochalla. Renowned flutist Tee Mac will also grace the occasion alongside members of the diplomatic community, state and federal government representatives, Arise News TV’s anchor Dr Reuben Abati, and other distinguished personalities.

According to the official statement, the event will take place at Avalanche Lounge, No. 5 Bamako Street, inside Bamako Estate, opposite Omole Phase One Gate, Omole, Lagos State.

It will run from 10:00am to 2:00pm with a red-carpet reception commencing promptly at 10:00 a.m. Attendees are encouraged to dress in traditional Nigerian attire, in line with the cultural celebration theme.

The organisers announced that Adeyeye Joseph, Managing Director and Editor-in-Chief of The PUNCH Newspapers, will serve as one of the keynote speakers, alongside Ekundayo Asaju, Editor-in-Chief and Managing Director of First Weekly Magazine.

Both industry leaders are expected to share insights on media innovation, diaspora influence, and the global representation of African excellence.

The ceremony will feature live musical performances by acclaimed Nigerian artists, including Orits Wiliki, Felix Duke, and Yomi Peters, with a special performance by Ado De Donia.

Guests will also enjoy comic entertainment from popular comedian MC Kirikiri, while A-list host Donald Wale will anchor proceedings as the Master of Ceremony.

A highlight of the evening will be a special appearance by fashion designer Larry Kay Ojomo, popularly known as Mon Ami, who was recently recognised as Nigeria’s Designer of the Year.

Mon Ami, also known for designing costumes for the Nigerian Miss World Pageant and the Commonwealth International Supermodel competition, will bring his signature creative flair to the red-carpet celebration.

The organisers stated that the event will serve as a platform to celebrate outstanding Nigerians making remarkable contributions in various fields globally.

It will also foster stronger connections between local professionals and members of the diaspora community, encouraging collaboration towards Africa’s sustainable economic development.

According to the press release, the event will be attended by prominent figures from both the public and private sectors, as well as representatives from diplomatic missions across Africa, North America, and Europe.

The organisers noted that the networking session will provide opportunities for cross-sector partnerships, trade discussions, and cultural exchange among stakeholders.

Naija Standard Newspaper Inc, USA, which is powering the ceremony, reaffirmed its commitment to promoting African stories and excellence across borders.

The organisation stated that the North American Media Award Presentation aims to recognise individuals and institutions whose work exemplifies innovation, leadership, and global impact from an African perspective.

“Tight security is guaranteed,” the statement assured, adding that accredited journalists will be granted automatic admission upon presentation of their media badges.

“RSVP contacts were provided for both Nigerian and United States-based guests, with the organisers encouraging early confirmation due to the high-profile nature of the event.

Organisers say the North American Media Award has already gained international attention as a major global networking platform linking African professionals in diaspora with local innovators, policymakers, and thought leaders.

They also said the 2025 edition in Lagos is anticipated to further strengthen media diplomacy and highlight the creative industries’ contribution to Africa’s socioeconomic transformation.

The statement concluded with a call to action for attendees to join the celebration and continue “telling African stories the African way to the rest of the world.”
