FG, States And LGs Share N1.969trn December Federation Revenue

DISTRIBUTION OF N1.969 trillion has been made to the Federal Government (FG), state governments and local government councils as December 2025 Federation Account revenue, the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) disclosed in a communique.

JKNewsMedia.com reports that a communique, issued by the committee’s Director of Press and Public Relations, Bawa Mokwa, on Monday, February 2, stated that the revenue was shared at the January 2026 FAAC meeting held in Abuja.

FAAC said the N1.969 trillion total distributable revenue comprised N1.084 trillion in distributable statutory revenue, N846.507 billion in distributable Value Added Tax (VAT) revenue and N38.110 billion from Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL).

The committee stated that total gross revenue of N2.585 trillion was available in December 2025.

It put the deduction for cost of collection at N104.697 billion and total transfers, refunds and savings at N511.585 billion.

Gross statutory revenue of N1.631 trillion was received for December 2025, lower than the N1.736 trillion recorded in November 2025 by N105.202 billion, the committee noted.

FAAC also reported that gross VAT revenue stood at N913.957 billion in December 2025, higher than the N563.042 billion recorded in November 2025 by N350.915 billion.

From the N1.969 trillion distributable revenue, the federal government received N653.500 billion, state governments received N706.469 billion and local government councils received N513.272 billion, while N96.083 billion, representing 13% of mineral revenue, was shared to the benefiting states as derivation revenue.

Of the N1.084 trillion distributable statutory revenue, the federal government received N520.807 billion, the states received N264.160 billion and the local councils received N203.656 billion, with N96.083 billion shared to the benefiting states as derivation.

From the N846.507 billion distributable VAT revenue, the federal government received N126.976 billion, the states received N423.254 billion and the local councils received N296.277 billion.

The committee added that from the N38.110 billion EMTL revenue, the federal government received N5.717 billion, the states received N19.055 billion and the local councils received N13.338 billion.

Moreover, FAAC disclosed that Companies Income Tax (CIT) and CGT and STD, Import Duty and VAT increased significantly in December 2025, while Oil and Gas Royalty and CET Levies and Fees increased marginally.

It finally stated that Excise Duty (ED), Petroleum Profit Tax (PPT) and Hydrocarbon Tax (HT) and EMTL recorded considerable decreases.
