FINANCIAL SUPPORT and mentorship are now reaching young changemakers across Nigeria as Fidelity Bank Plc strengthens its commitment to youth empowerment by partnering with global network, Ashoka.
At the 2025 Ashoka Young Changemakers Festival in Lagos, Fidelity Bank’s Divisional Head of Product Development, Osita Ede, outlined the bank’s support for innovation as a key part of its corporate social responsibility strategy.
He described youth empowerment as central to the bank’s mission and expressed confidence in the potential of Nigeria’s young entrepreneurs.
Creativity and innovation, according to Ede, form the essence of Fidelity’s brand. He said the bank’s backing of these young changemakers aligns with its long-term vision to foster enterprise and creativity across communities.
He confirmed that beyond financial investment, Fidelity will open access to its SME Hub, where participants can receive tailored mentorship and business development through masterclasses.
The bank’s support is designed not only to fund individual initiatives but also to build an enabling structure that guides emerging innovators towards sustainable growth and success.
Josephine Nzerem, Regional Director, Ashoka Anglophone West Africa and Director of Venture and Talent at Ashoka Africa, welcomed the partnership.
She said Ashoka’s work with Fidelity Bank goes beyond a client relationship, evolving into a collaborative effort to grow a movement of young changemakers. She acknowledged Fidelity’s consistent support for awards, resources, and visibility, which she described as vital to sustaining the broader vision.
The 2025 edition of the Ashoka Young Changemakers Festival spotlighted nine exceptional young Nigerians with bold, actionable ideas to improve their communities.
The event serves as a platform to inspire leadership and innovation among young people seeking to build impactful ventures.
