RETURNING TO the Africa Social Impact Summit as a key theme partner, Plan International Nigeria has announced it will drive targeted discussions on inclusive education, gender equity, and adolescent protection, reinforcing the urgency for policies and systems that prioritise girls’ rights and safety across Africa.
Driving core conversations around gender equity, inclusive education, and adolescent protection, the organisation aims to ensure that the voices and experiences of girls, especially those living through crises, conflict, or recovery, remain central to development agendas.
It continues to advocate for robust systems that secure girls’ future through national policies, community-level support, and sustainable educational frameworks.
“The development conversation is incomplete if girls are still being left behind,” said Charles Usie, Country Director of Plan International Nigeria. “ASIS is a space where that reality cannot be ignored.
“We are here to keep the focus on meaningful change for every girl navigating risk, uncertainty and unequal systems.”
At the summit, the organisation said it will actively participate in high-level panels and technical working groups tackling youth policy, gender-responsive development, and education financing.
Through these engagements, it will also spotlight the outcomes of girls-focused community projects and amplify stories that underscore the importance of sustained investment in girls.
