STRENGHTENED INFRASTRUCUTURE and expanded communications capacity have driven Globacom Nigeria’s latest nationwide network upgrades.

The company announced it has positioned the development as a decisive step towards delivering faster speeds, broader reach and congestion-free service for millions of users.

In a press statement, Globacom noted that the initiatives, which began on Thursday, 4 December 2025, formed part of a broader effort to prepare the network for long-term digital demands across the country.

It also said that expanded spectrum capacity now supports a higher volume of data traffic at significantly improved speeds.

The strengthened resource base enhances the network’s ability to deliver quicker downloads and more robust upload capability while sustaining clear voice calls during busy usage periods, the company said.

Also, the operator stated that customers would experience smoother video streaming and generally more responsive connectivity as the additional capacity integrates fully into the system.

It further stated that the enhanced spectrum base is being matched with extensive physical site deployment.

Globacom explained that thousands of LTE sites installed this year form the core of the strengthened footprint, while hundreds more are currently under construction.

The company added that thousands of additional locations are scheduled for rollout over the next twelve months.

According to the statement, the continued expansion will deepen broadband penetration nationwide and reinforce connectivity in both indoor and outdoor environments across urban centres, towns and rural communities.

A company representative described the upgrades as a transformative shift across the country, stating that “these new network resources are not isolated improvements; they represent a nationwide transformation.

Nigerians will now experience stronger coverage, higher speeds and consistent service quality everywhere they live, work or travel,” it was stated.
