REFLECTION ON the meaning of Christmas and renewed commitment to Christian virtues formed the centre of a goodwill message issued by Nigeria’s technology and telecommunications company, Globacom, as Christians in Nigeria and across the world mark the birth of Jesus Christ.

The company, conveying warm Christmas greetings to Christians nationwide and globally, describe the Yuletide as a significant season that invites deep reflection on faith, conduct, and responsibility to others.

Released on Tuesday, Globacom focused on the values associated with the birth of Christ and called on believers to live out those principles in their daily lives.

It stated that Christmas represents more than celebration, pointing instead to the lessons embedded in the circumstances surrounding the birth of Jesus emphasising that those circumstances offer guidance on how Christians should relate to God and humanity, particularly through humility, obedience, and love.

“The noble but lowly circumstances of the birth of Christ teach salient virtues including obedience to God, humility, love for mankind, and a fastidious commitment to the good of all. We urge Christians to commit to practicing these virtues, as followers of Christ,” the company stated.

The company also stressed the importance of personal conduct and moral responsibility, highlighting that the teachings of Jesus provide a framework for how believers should live, not only during the Christmas season but beyond it.

It further urged Christians to consciously embody those teachings in their interactions with others.

Attention was also drawn to the responsibility of caring for fellow human beings. as the company referenced the account of Jesus feeding the multitude, as recorded in the Gospels, describing it as a lasting reminder of the duty to share and support others, particularly during periods of difficulty.

By citing this biblical account, Globacom reinforced its call for compassion and generosity, encouraging Nigerians to look beyond themselves and extend care to those in need. The company noted that such acts reflect the essence of Christ’s message and align with the values symbolised by Christmas.

The statement further encouraged Nigerians to sustain the spirit associated with Christmas beyond the festive period. Globacom called on individuals to reflect continually the love and peace represented by the birth of Christ in their conduct and relationships, stressing that these qualities should not be limited to a particular season.

In extending its message, the company addressed its customers directly, offering reassurance regarding service delivery during the holidays. Globacom stated that it would continue to provide uninterrupted services throughout the Christmas period, ensuring that customers remain connected during the celebrations.

The company also encouraged customers to make use of its products and services to stay in touch with family and friends and to share the joy of the season highlighting the role of connectivity in bringing people together, especially at a time when communication plays a central part in celebration and fellowship.
