PREPARATIONS ARE set for a nationwide voter register revalidation exercise as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) schedules the process to commence on April 13.

JKNewsMedia.com reports that INEC said the exercise is designed to update the register of voters to ensure accuracy and prevent fraudulent entries.

It also aims to ensure that only eligible individuals participate in elections and to strengthen the integrity of the voting process.

“Eligible voters are expected to check their registration details and complete revalidation where required, with the commission set to announce specific steps for compliance. Individuals who are not yet registered will also have the opportunity to register during the exercise,” INEC stated.

TIMETABLE:

INEC timetable released for the process outlines activities across multiple levels, shows:

▪️From April 13 to May 2, the exercise will take place at the local government area level.

▪️Activities will then move to registration areas from May 5 to May 11, followed by polling units from May 13 to May 19.

▪️A second phase at the local government area level is scheduled from May 20 to May 29.

The commission urged the public to stay informed and participate in the process to ensure their eligibility to vote is maintained.
