By Ajibola Olaide, JKNewsMedia

NIGERIANS HAVE been warned against a fraudulent website falsely claiming that nationwide online voter registration is currently open from 28 September to 27 October 2026.

JKNewsMedia.com reports that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on its X handle said the website, pvc-inecnigeria-org.blogspot.com, has no affiliation with the commission and urged members of the public not to click on the link or submit personal information through the platform.

INEC warned that providing personal information on the website could expose sensitive data to the risk of being harvested or misused.

Also, the commission clarified that the voter registration exercise ended on 26 July 2026, describing claims that a new nationwide online registration exercise is currently underway through the website as false.

The fake platform claims to offer a “Final Phase of Nationwide Online Voter Card Registration”, including services to update voter registration information, transfer registration to another polling unit and replace damaged or lost Permanent Voter Cards. It also claims that registration and PVC delivery are free.

INEC urged Nigerians to remain vigilant and verify electoral information through its official communication channels.

For enquiries, the commission provided its call centre number, 0700-CALL-INEC (0700-2255-4632), short code 4632, phone numbers 090844444333 and 09050858629, and email address iccc@inec.gov.ng.
