AWARD-WINNING journalist and former CNN International Anchor, Isha Sesay, will feature this week on the Globacom sponsored television magazine programme African Voices Changemakers, where she will share her career journey, advocacy work and experience of motherhood.
JKNewsMedia.com reports that the special edition places Sesay in the spotlight after years of interviewing world leaders and other newsmakers, offering viewers an account of a media career that has spanned several international news organisations.
Born in Sierra Leone and raised in the United Kingdom (UK), Sesay worked with the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), Sky News and later CNN International, which she joined in 2005, adding that the programme highlights her reporting and presentation career across the global broadcaster.
A graduate of Trinity College, Cambridge, she became host of CNN’s flagship global affairs programme International Desk in 2009.
The programme also revisits her interviews with political, business and civil society figures, including former Nigerian Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and the late Umaru Musa Yar’Adua.
Sesay later presented the 360 Bulletin segment on Anderson Cooper 360 before becoming an anchor on CNN NewsCenter.
Beyond journalism, the programme features her work as founder of Women Everywhere Can Lead, a non-profit organisation established in 2014 to expand educational opportunities for girls across Africa and equip them with leadership skills.
Viewers will also hear Sesay discuss fertility and motherhood after welcoming her first child through In-Vitro Fertilisation as a single parent.
African Voices Changemakers says it will premiere on Saturday at 7.30am with a repeat broadcast at 11.00am.
Additional broadcasts will air on Sunday at 3.30am. and 6.00pm, Monday at 3.00am and 5.45pm, and Tuesday at 5.45pm.
Further repeat broadcasts will continue in the same time slots through the following week.
