ABUJA will see President Bola Tinubu depart today for Europe to begin a three-week annual leave, with London, United Kingdom, as his first destination.
JKNewsMedia.com reports that the President will spend the period on what his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, described on Sunday as a “working vacation”.
Onanuga announced that Tinubu would depart Abuja later today for Europe and begin the three-week break as part of his annual leave.
The President’s first stop will be London, the presidential spokesperson said.
Tinubu is expected to return to Nigeria after the working vacation and join the campaign ahead of the January 2027 election.
Onanuga writes that his annual leave comes as political activities intensify ahead of the 2027 elections, with the campaign season for the January 16 presidential and National Assembly polls already underway.
Meanwhile, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officially opened the campaign period on August 19, paving the way for political parties and candidates to commence rallies and other campaign activities.
Tinubu, who is seeking re-election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), is expected to return home after the three-week vacation to join the election campaign.
