He said interment will follow immediately.

A WhatsApp message from Mr. Lekan Otufodunrin, convener of Journalists for Christ, confirmed that Mr Tunde Abatan, publisher of NewDawn Online, lost his wife last week after a brief illness.

In a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Remmy Nweke, the guild’s President, Maureen Chigbo, and Secretary-General, Olumide Iyanda, described the loss as a painful one for the family and the online publishing community.

“On behalf of the entire GOCOP family, we extend our heartfelt condolences. The loss of a life partner is an indescribable pain, and we can only imagine the depth of your grief,” the statement read.

GOCOP assured Mr Abatan of its prayers and support, while also praying for the repose of Mrs Abatan’s soul.
