INFLATION ROSE to 15.15 percent in December 2025 from 14.45 percent in November, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) reported on Thursday.

It says the Consumer Price Index (CPI) reached 131.2, up 0.7 points from 130.5, marking a month-on-month increase of 0.7 percent.

Food inflation, however, eased to 10.84 percent in December from 11.08 percent in November, and on a year-on-year basis, it fell from 39.84 percent in December 2024.

Also, the December 2025 year-on-year headline inflation rate of 15.15 percent was lower than November 2025’s 17.33 percent and 19.65 percent below December 2024’s 34.80 percent.

The NBS noted that the headline inflation rate decreased on a year-on-year basis in December 2025 compared with the same month in 2024, based on the November 2009 = 100 index.
