HOPE AND determination rang through President Bola Tinubu’s Easter message as he addressed the nation during wha he described as a season marked by spiritual reflection and national challenge.

With the country navigating economic strain and ongoing insecurity, the President used the Christian celebration of Jesus Christ’s resurrection to call on Nigerians to reflect on the values of sacrifice, redemption, and unity—describing them as essential to the country’s path toward peace and prosperity.

He expressed deep sorrow over recent violent incidents that claimed lives across several regions.

While acknowledging the pain and fear such attacks have caused, he assured citizens that the government’s resolve to secure the nation remains firm.

“Forces of evil will never prevail over our country,” he said, revealing that the Armed Forces and security agencies have received firm directives to eliminate threats without delay.

According to the President, progress is being made as security operations intensify and territories are reclaimed.

Turning to the economy, the message recognised the burden many households continue to carry. Still, he conveyed cautious optimism, pointing to early signs of economic recovery and pledging continued efforts to restore investor confidence and stabilise key sectors.

He praised Nigerians for their “patience and resilience” and reaffirmed his administration’s vision for an inclusive and just economy that serves all citizens.

The President also joined global well-wishers in offering prayers of gratitude for Pope Francis’s recovery, hoping that renewed strength would continue to guide the Pope’s humanitarian leadership.

As Christians in Nigeria and worldwide observed Easter, the President likened Christ’s triumph over death to the country’s potential to overcome adversity.

“The present moment may be cloudy,” he said, “but it will usher in a glorious day.

” His message closed with a powerful appeal to unity: “The task before us is enormous, but together, with faith and determination, there is no obstacle we cannot overcome.”
