Nigeria’s Efe Ajagbe Knocks Out Former World Heavyweight Champ, Charles Martins In 4th Round

NIGERIA’s STAR boy Heavy Weight Boxing Contender nick named “African Nightmare”, Efe Ajagbe because of his rare hard punches on Monday morning Nigerian time in Las Vegas, America knocked out former International Boxing Federation Heavy weight champion, Charles Martin in the 4th round.

31-year-old Efe born 22nd April 1994 who hails from Ughelli, Delta State of Nigeria with a stunning 6ft 5inches height had eyed Martin the 39-year-old St. Louis native right from the weigh in promising to choke him with his devastating punch within the distance.

The bout which was the main card of the night saw Martin dominating from round one but round three made fans stand with their heart in their mouth as Martin hit Efe at 1:20’ of that round but Efe came roaring with a blast at 1:07’ of same round which Martin being felled for the second time in the night struggled to stand and wobbled into the 4th round. He had landed a good left hand on Efe in this 3rd round that almost made Efe kiss the canvas.

After the surviving wobble of the 3rd round, Martin began to run round the ring when Efe entered his usual character of pursuing and oppressing opponents in the early rounds unto Knock out but Ref Thomas Taylor had to verbally warn Martin who feared collateral damage from Efe to show his professional ability as a fighter.

Efe finished Martin in the 23rd second of the 4th round and showed his chest in a typical Nigerian ‘Buga’ style. Martin lost by Knockout for the 3rd time in 13 years as a Professional!

Efe told ring side Announcer, Max Kellerman, “I (didn’t) feel his power but he has a lot of experience. He was very sharp”.

Efe continued, “I’m ready for everyone in the top 10but nobody’s mentioning my name. Nobody’s calling my name. I’m already top 10. I’m ready to go”.

Zuff Boxingwhich Efe fought in this morning is a heavyweight division that is very much still in development, Efe entered the fight on the fringes of the top 10 in the world. This knockout on former Champion Charles Martins will push him up in ranking.
