THE NIGERIA Immigration Service (NIS) has acknowledged recent technical challenges experienced by some Nigerians in the diaspora using its Contactless Biometric Passport Application System.

According to the Service, its technical team is actively working to resolve the issues and restore seamless functionality to the system.

It explained that part of the ongoing improvement includes an upgrade and scale-up of the payment gateway to enhance the overall user experience.

The NIS stated that since the introduction of the Contactless Passport System, the platform has successfully processed and issued over 15,000 passports to Nigerians abroad.

This milestone, it noted, underscores the Service’s commitment to innovation, efficiency, and excellence in service delivery.

Applicants who have not received their One-Time Password (OTP) are advised to check their email spam folders.

The Service also encouraged users to review eligibility criteria and requirements available on the official website before applying to ensure a smooth process.

Reaffirming its commitment, the NIS stated that it remains focused on providing transparent, reliable, and high-quality services to Nigerians worldwide.

The statemen, e-signed by ACI AS Akinlabi, Service Public Relations Officer, on behalf of the Nigeria Immigration Service Headquarters in Abuja, also directed applicants using the NIS Contactless App (NIS Mobile) to reach its support team through the following official channels:
