NNPC Alleges Internal And External Plot To Sabotage Reform Agenda

COORDINATED EFFORTS to undermine ongoing reforms at the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) have been exposed by the company, alleging a deliberate sabotage plot by internal and external actors.

Management revealed in an electronically signed statement dated 27 June 2025 that a syndicate, comprising both known individuals and faceless figures, is actively spreading misinformation aimed at discrediting leadership and obstructing the organisation’s transformation into a corruption-free, performance-driven energy entity.

The campaign, according to the statement, involves the planting of fabricated and scandalous reports designed to mislead the public, distract executive leadership, and weaken staff morale.

These tactics are said to reflect the desperation of those threatened by transparency, accountability, and institutional change.

Warning of a likely increase in defamatory publications, the company stated that its reform mandate, backed by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, remains on track and will not be derailed by acts of sabotage.

The company then urged employees, stakeholders, and patriotic Nigerians to remain focused and not yield to distractions.

NNPC Ltd then reaffirmed its commitment to delivering a transformed national energy institution founded on integrity and service.
