FIRM GROWTH in revenue has been declared by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited, with figures for August 2025 reaching N4.655 trillion, compared to N4.406 trillion recorded in July.
The company’s Monthly Report Summary for August, released on Friday, showed that Profit After Tax rose significantly to N539 billion in August from N185 billion in July.
The figure, however, remained below the N905 billion reported in June and the N1.054 trillion achieved in May.
Statutory remittances to the Federation also increased, climbing to N8.86 trillion by the end of July, from N7.96 trillion in the first half of the year, according to the company’s report.
Operational data from the report indicated that crude oil and condensate production dropped to an average of 1.65 million barrels per day in August, from 1.7 million barrels per day in July.
Natural gas output also fell, averaging 6,949 million standard cubic feet per day in August, compared with 7,722 million standard cubic feet per day in July.
Sales figures reflected a similar decline. Crude oil and condensate sales totalled 22.37 million barrels in August, down from 25.49 million barrels in July.
Gas sales also slipped to 4,201 million standard cubic feet per day, from 4,978 million standard cubic feet per day in the previous month.
NNPC attributed the reductions to turnaround maintenance on upstream facilities, in line with Nigeria LNG’s maintenance schedule.
The report clarified that all production, sales, and financial data remain provisional and subject to reconciliation with relevant stakeholders.
On infrastructure projects, NNPC noted progress on the Ajaokuta–Kaduna–Kano pipeline, which moved from 83 percent completion in July to 84 percent in August.
Work also continued on the Obiafu–Obrikom–Oben pipeline project, with 113 kilometres commissioned.
Producers including AHL, Platform, Chorus, and Xenergi supplied about 300 million standard cubic feet of gas daily, with AHL contributing 250 million standard cubic feet.
In its downstream operations, NNPC reported improved product availability, with the level of “wetness” at its retail outlets increasing to 76 percent in August, compared with 70 percent in July.
The report also highlighted corporate social responsibility initiatives. In August, 60,231 members of the National Youth Service Corps received financial literacy training, bringing the total number of beneficiaries to 930,614.
The company said it further sponsored the Code4Privacy Hackathon, in collaboration with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission, engaging 141 young Nigerians in digital innovation.
