GOVERNOR Dapo Abiodun is clamouring for the creation of the Ogun Division of the Court of Appeal in his state.

During a meeting with President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Monica Dongban-Mensem, the governor emphasized the need for expeditious dispensation of justice, highlighting the potential benefits of establishing a dedicated appellate division within the state.

Acknowledging Justice Dongban-Mensem’s efforts in streamlining appeal processes nationwide, Governor Abiodun underscored the importance of swift justice delivery in maintaining social order and fostering economic activities. He cited ongoing judicial reforms in the state, including the Multi Court House Scheme and judicial appointments, aimed at enhancing the efficiency of the justice system.

Justice Dongban-Mensem, in turn, expressed concerns over the backlog of appeal cases in the Ibadan Division, pledging to address the workload imbalance.

She praised the transformative initiatives undertaken by the Abiodun administration and reaffirmed the Court of Appeal’s commitment to collaboration with state governments for enhanced justice administration.

The governor notes that the collaborative efforts between government and stakeholders underscore a promising path for both the aviation and judicial sectors in Ogun State, and promising to elevate standards and foster sustainable development.
