Ojulari Eyes Sector Revival with Strategic Collaboration, Unified Leadership

FRESH RESOLVE to build bridges across Nigeria’s oil and gas landscape dominated talks as the Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd), Mr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, pledged to deliver measurable progress amid long-standing bureaucratic hurdles and underwhelming crude production.

At the heart of the challenge lies the need for coordinated leadership and genuine collaboration across key government institutions.

To confront these challenges head-on, Ojulari said efforts will be geared at fostering strategic partnerships aimed at breaking silos and driving collective performance.

His commitment came during a courtesy visit to the Honourable Minister of Petroleum Resources (Oil), Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, where both leaders voiced a shared determination to align efforts and accelerate sectoral gains.

“We are here with a mindset of partnership—partnership with the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, with the Ministry of Finance, and with all other critical stakeholders,” Mr Ojulari stated.

“Our goal is to bridge gaps, foster alignment, and move forward with a united front. Antagonism benefits no one; collaboration is how we win.”

Ojulari, who leads a newly assembled executive team at NNPC Ltd, stressed that his administration is entering office with clarity of purpose: to improve operational outcomes and restore public trust in the sector’s capacity to deliver value.

He highlighted collaboration, not confrontation, as the blueprint for institutional effectiveness.

Responding to the GCEO’s remarks, Senator Lokpobiri described the team under Ojulari’s leadership as the most formidable in NNPC Ltd’s history.

He expressed confidence in their technical competence and vision, urging the team to turn their strong reputation into visible, measurable results—particularly by increasing crude oil output and unlocking long-term value for Nigerians.

The Minister also assured NNPC Ltd of his full backing, promising to work closely with Ojulari and his leadership to ensure the company is supported by a regulatory and policy environment that enables success.
