EXPRESSIONS OF confidence in the contribution of Globacom to Nigeria’s telecommunications industry were made on Wednesday by the Olubadan-designate, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, during a visit by the company’s Enterprise Sales team to his private residence in Bodija, Ibadan, Oyo State.

Oba Ladoja described the operator as the pride of the nation and urged Nigerians to ensure the company’s continued success.

He noted that Globacom transformed the country’s telecoms landscape by ending earlier practices that left subscribers with little value for money.

According to him, but for the intervention of Globacom, Nigerians would have continued to struggle under the restrictive billing system of the first entrants into the sector, “where the people would have continued to pay per minute even if all they said was ‘hello, how are you?’”.

He prayed for the well-being of the company’s Chairman, Dr. Mike Adenuga Jr., while expressing hope for Globacom’s support during his coronation and afterwards.

Oba Ladoja is scheduled to receive his staff of office on Friday, 26 September 2025.

Earlier in the engagement, Head of Enterprise Sales at Globacom, Mr. Adeniyi Odejobi, congratulated the Olubadan-designate on his forthcoming coronation and extended the warm regards of the company’s Board and Management.

He stated that Globacom would continue to support the monarch in his new role, adding, “Globacom will support your office, and we will ensure that your telecommunications needs are fulfilled.”
