THE NIGERIAN National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has announced that the Port Harcourt Refining Company (PHRC) commenced a scheduled maintenance shutdown on 24 May 2025.

According to a statement issued on Sunday by Olufemi O. Soneye, Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPC Ltd, the maintenance exercise includes a comprehensive sustainability assessment and is being carried out in collaboration with the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) and other relevant stakeholders.

Soneye assured the public that all procedures are being executed transparently and efficiently to support the company’s broader commitment to energy security and infrastructure integrity.

“NNPC Ltd remains steadfast in its commitment to delivering sustainable energy security for Nigeria,” Soneye stated.

The company has promised to keep Nigerians informed with regular updates via its website, media platforms, and official communications.
