NIGERIA’s bleeding has stopped and a new era of prosperity is on the horizon emphatically declares  President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Speaking on Friday evening, Tinubu assured that the worst of Nigeria’s economic woes are over and pledged unwavering commitment to driving the nation towards sustainable growth and development in a heartfelt address to Yoruba Leaders of Thought led by Prince Tajudeen Oluyole Olusi.

Reflecting on the challenges his administration faced upon taking office, Tinubu asserted, “We took over, and we have stopped the bleeding. Nigeria is no longer bleeding. It will not bleed to death but will now move to prosperity.”

He emphasized his determination to fulfill his promises to the Nigerian people, expressing confidence that the nation is on a path to recovery and success.

Acknowledging the difficulties encountered, Tinubu likened the situation to swimming against a strong current but assured that the tide is turning.

“The worst is over for Nigeria. We will prevail,” he stated confidently.

He commended his team for their hard work and dedication, promising that his administration will continue to strive for the betterment of all Nigerians.

Tinubu highlighted ongoing efforts to improve essential sectors, mentioning significant progress in healthcare upgrades, road rehabilitation, and education development.

He urged citizens to hold their state governors accountable, stressing the importance of synergy between federal and state governments for effective development.

“Pay attention to your state governors. Tell them to take their responsibilities seriously and make the people the focus of their development plans,” he urged.

The President also addressed the issue of local government administration, advocating for greater autonomy and purposeful community development.

He criticized any attempts to centralize local government responsibilities under the federal system, labeling it as criminal.

“We have a federal system. States must do whatever is in the best interest of their own process of administration,” Tinubu affirmed, calling for consistency with fiscal federalism.

As Nigeria’s population continues to grow, Tinubu underscored the need for flexible and expansive housing policies to accommodate the increasing geographical requirements.

He reassured that the country is no longer resorting to unsustainable financial practices, saying, “Nigeria went through terrible labour pains, but we have seen the baby coming out alive.”

He noted that the meeting with the Yoruba Leaders of Thought served as a platform for his government to reaffirm his administration’s commitment to transparency, good governance, and the collective prosperity of the Nigerian people.
