TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS linked to Nigeria’s end of year presidential schedule continued on Sunday as the President departed Lagos for Europe, ahead of an official engagement in the United Arab Emirates.

The journey forms part of the President’s year end break and precedes his participation in the 2026 edition of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week Summit, scheduled to hold early in January in the emirate of Abu Dhabi.

An official statement signed by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, and dated December 28, 2025, confirmed that the President received an invitation from the President of the United Arab Emirates, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed AlNahyan, to attend the summit.

The statement noted that Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week is a weeklong annual summit that brings together leaders from government, business and society.

It said the gathering is designed to mobilise participants to chart the next era of sustainable development through dialogue, collaboration and shared commitments.

Onanuga also added that the 2026 edition of the summit will be held under the theme The Nexus of Next All Systems Go explaining further that the theme reflects a focus on connecting ambition with action across innovation, finance and people.

He added that the programme will showcase pathways for advancing sustainable development while demonstrating how the global community can move forward with confidence.

The statement also confirmed that the President will return to Nigeria after the conclusion of the summit.
