THE ARRIVAL of President Bola Tinubu in Ghana on January 6, 2025, marks his participation in the inauguration of President-elect John Mahama, scheduled for January 7.

Nigeria President’s visit follows Mahama’s re-election in December 2024, after serving as Ghana’s 12th president from 2011 to 2017.

Mahama will take over from the outgoing President Nana Akufo-Addo.

Upon arrival at Kotoka International Airport in Accra, President Tinubu was warmly received by Julius Debra, the Chief of Staff to Ghana’s current president.

The Nigerian leader, who is also serving as the Chairman of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government, will join several other African heads of state at the swearing-in ceremony, to further cement regional diplomatic ties.
