NIGERIA’s PRESIDENT Bola Tinubu has extended his congratulations to Donald Trump on his re-election as the 47th president of the United States.

Tinubu’s statement, issued through his adviser Bayo Onanuga, emphasized the importance of strong U.S.-Nigeria relations, expressing his belief that Trump’s leadership could foster mutual growth and stability on the global stage.

Tinubu welcomed Trump’s return to the White House, lauding the American people’s trust in Trump’s leadership.

He highlighted the critical role the United States plays in shaping global events and voiced optimism that Trump’s leadership would bring positive change.

“With President Trump’s experience as the former 45th president, his return offers an era of earnest, beneficial, and reciprocal partnerships between Africa and the United States,” Tinubu stated, referencing Trump’s past administration from 2017 to 2021.

The Nigerian president also expressed hope that Trump’s administration would strengthen global economic cooperation and promote peace.

He underscored the significance of this relationship, particularly in addressing shared challenges that impact citizens worldwide.

Tinubu further emphasized Nigeria’s commitment to working alongside the United States in tackling pressing issues, from economic development to global security.

As Trump’s projected victory was announced after securing 276 electoral college votes, he delivered a celebratory speech to supporters, emphasizing his determination to address national issues, including immigration, economic stability, and border security.

Trump’s victory speech pledged a renewed commitment to restoring America, expressing confidence in the country’s potential for what he called a “golden age.”

His ideals resonated with Tinubu, who acknowledged the importance of Trump’s leadership in driving peace and prosperity worldwide.

President Tinubu’s message concluded with a nod to Americans’ dedication to democracy, adding that Nigeria looks forward to a productive relationship with the U.S. under Trump’s renewed leadership.
