DURING the solemn ceremony at the National Cemetery, Abuja, President Bola Tinubu pledged comprehensive support for the families of the 17 soldiers who tragically lost their lives in the Okuama community of Delta State.

Addressing the nation, President Tinubu affirmed the nation’s gratitude for the sacrifice of the fallen heroes, vowing to ensure their families receive the care and support they deserve.

He announced that each family would be provided housing anywhere within the country, allowing them to find solace and stability in their chosen locations

Furthermore, President Tinubu unveiled a groundbreaking commitment to educational opportunities, promising full scholarships up to the university level for all children of the deceased soldiers, including those yet unborn.

This gesture, he said, underscores the government’s unwavering dedication to honouring the legacy of those who gave their lives in service to the nation.

The announcement, made by President Tinubu’s special assistant on media, Dada Olusegun, also emphasized the urgency of ensuring that all entitlements and benefits owed to the families are promptly disbursed within 90 days, providing vital support during this period of mourning and transition.

Noting that as the nation mourns the loss of these brave patriots, President Tinubu said this is just displaying collective compassionate commitments which stands as a testament to the enduring gratitude and support of the Federal Republic of Nigeria for all her gallant soldiers and their families.
