STATE Governors, including Lagos Gov Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, Delta Gov Sheriff Obvorewori and Senate President Godwin Akpabio, all celebrate with Muslims in Nigeria during their Eid=el-Fitr.

In the various messages conveyed to journalists on Tuesday, they emphasized the importance of unity, love and peaceful coexistence among Nigerians, regardless of religious differences.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State encouraged the practice of religious tolerance and affirmed efforts to alleviate economic hardships within the state. He cited various intervention programmes by both state and federal governments as evidence of imminent relief.

Senate President Godwin Akpabio, while breaking fast with Muslims in Abuja, emphasized that religious diversity should not divide Nigerians, emphasizing the shared belief in one God which transcends religious boundaries, and noted the convergence of Christian and Muslim celebrations as a testament to this unity.

Governor Dapo Abiodun highlights the significance of peaceful coexistence in enhancing governance in Ogun State, urging Muslim believers to apply lessons learned during the fasting month to their daily lives, fostering compassion, kindness, and understanding within the community.

Governor Obvorewori of Delta State, urged adherence to the teachings they’d received in the last one month, emphasizing the virtues that promote personal growth and reflection in their daily lives.

Collectively, the political leaders stressed the importance of unity, tolerance and adherence to shared values in fostering peace, unity and progress in Nigeria.
