SEASONED JOURNALIST, Stella Din-Jacob, has been appointed Executive Director of News at the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) by President Bola Tinubu.
This is noted to be marking a new phase for the broadcaster’s editorial leadership.
Din-Jacob, from Plateau State, brings over three decades of experience in broadcasting, newsroom leadership, and editorial management to her new role.
She began her professional journey as a lawyer before moving fully into journalism, where she became one of Nigeria’s most respected voices in the media industry.

She has held senior editorial roles across some of the country’s leading television stations, including Channels Television, Silverbird Television, and TVC News, where she rose to the position of Director of News.
Over the course of her career, Din-Jacob has contributed significantly to newsroom development, training, and mentoring of young journalists, while also playing a prominent role in setting professional standards for ethical and responsible journalism in Nigeria.
Her contributions have drawn recognition for advancing press freedom and for promoting greater gender representation within the media.
Her sudden appointment to the NTA comes as the organisation undergoes restructuring to improve its competitiveness in an evolving media environment shaped by digital innovation and intense competition.
While being appointed, the Federal Government expressed confidence that she will drive reforms to modernise the station’s news operations and maintain NTA’s role as a trusted source of information for Nigerians.
Also, the Talented Women’s Network (TWN) has extended its congratulations to Din-Jacob, describing her appointment as a reflection of her resilience, leadership, and commitment to excellence in journalism.
The group stated that her elevation will inspire women across the media industry and beyond.
