THE UNBREAKABLE unity of Nigeria has been reaffirmed by President Bola Tinubu.

He made the assertion at the 25th Democracy Day Anniversary Dinner held at the State House Conference Centre in Abuja, on the night of Wednesday, June 12 night to honour the heroes of Nigeria’s long struggle for democracy, dating back to the military era.

President Tinubu, addressing a diverse audience, highlighted the complexity and richness of Nigeria’s cultural tapestry. He stressed that democratic governance is the optimal path to the nation’s success. According to him, the country’s true potential can be unlocked only through a unified commitment to democratic principles and practices.

In his speech, President Tinubu outlined the pressing need to combat the menace of banditry, which has significantly disrupted agricultural productivity. He emphasized that for Nigeria to reap the benefits of the agricultural initiatives introduced by his administration, it is crucial to eliminate the threats posed by bandits to farmers. He expressed confidence in Nigeria’s ability to achieve food self-sufficiency, noting that the nation has the inherent capacity to sustain its population.

Furthermore, the President called for substantial investments in national orientation programmes. He stressed the importance of instilling a shared value system among Nigerians to rebuild the nation. This, he believes, is essential for harnessing the collective potential of the citizenry and fostering national development.

President Tinubu acknowledged the significant work that lies ahead in repositioning Nigeria and re-orienting its citizens. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to these goals, urging all Nigerians to contribute to the nation’s progress by embracing and promoting its core values.
