THE PRESIDENCY has affirmed that President Bola Tinubu continues to steer Nigeria’s affairs from Europe, with his office reiterating that his absence is brief and within an approved timeline.

A statement issued on 17 April 2025 by the Special Adviser to the President (Information and Strategy), Bayo Onanuga, confirmed that Tinubu is in London after departing Paris over the weekend.

The presidency assured the public that the President remains fully engaged, maintaining close communication with top government officials and issuing key directives, particularly to security chiefs in response to emerging threats across parts of the country.

Despite being overseas, Tinubu’s hand remains firmly on the nation’s wheel of governance.

His commitment, the statement noted, has not wavered, as he continues to oversee pressing national matters.

The Presidency also clarified that his return to Abuja will take place following the Easter holiday, aligning with the earlier communicated duration of approximately two weeks.

Government operations, according to the statement, remain smooth and uninterrupted, with the President actively involved in the nation’s leadership even while abroad.

“We appreciate the public’s concern,” the statement concluded, “and assure all Nigerians that governance proceeds without interruption.”
